Finance shapes nearly every life, yet many people learn its terminology without its underlying logic. This course opens the mechanics of the financial world: how money moves, how institutions and markets work, what incentives shape advice and products, and how risk, ownership, debt and liquidity change a decision. It strengthens your ability to understand, question and judge what is put before you, with no professional training required.

What we will work with

  • Money, banking, credit, markets and the roles of financial institutions.
  • Ownership, debt, liquidity, risk and the incentives behind financial proposals.
  • Financial stories, comparisons and questions that reveal what a proposition really means.
  • Practical exercises in assessing a financial claim while keeping the judgment your own.

What you can take away

A reusable set of questions for making sense of financial propositions, and the interests, assumptions and trade-offs beneath them.

Who it is for

People who want a stronger understanding of finance without becoming financial specialists: entrepreneurs, family members, and anyone making consequential financial choices.

Age

18+.

Boundary

Education in financial systems and reasoning; not individual investment, legal or tax advice.
